John has extensive investing and operating experience in high growth emerging companies across a diverse range of industries.
Prior to Georgian Partners, John spent 11 years at VRG Capital were he was responsible for winning and accelerating investments through due diligence, deal structuring, fundraising, M&A, operations support and post investment strategic support.
While at VRG, he spent 6 years as CEO of showcare solution, an investee company, which he grew from a small regional organization to a leading provider of tradeshow registration and analytics to associations and large media companies in North America. Prior to VRG john spent 6 years at Imperial Oil were he rose through 4 roles of increase responsibility ending with National strategy and programs for a 550 chain for locations.
John was educated at Queen’s University and University of Calgary where he received degree in Computer science. He received his Certified Financial Analyst designation in 1998. He currently serves on the board of the Association of Technology CEO’s of Ontario and is a past board member of the Toronto Venture Group.
